Our last day at the Washington and Jefferson College was very busy. The breakfast was already a little bit sad because everyone knew it was our last one together. All of us enjoyed the food in the Commons!! In class we had to present all our knowledge and creativity about Washington City and the County Pennsylvania by presenting ideas on how to make Washington City more liveable. After that we went to the Alumni House again and together with our lovely English teacher Cathy Altmeyer we tried to make typical American Pie. We were very thankful to have such a joyful last day in college.
With sad faces everybody started to pack things or got ready for the last formal dinner in the Ballroom. The last official dinner was amazing. After a speech of the president and an absolutely delicoius dinner we got our Fulbright Certificates and thanked everybody who made this experience possible. For most of us it felt like a second time having the prom night, especially when we started to take pictures. After we left the Ballroom, the party did not stop. We went back to our house and got even more certificates. But this time we got personal certificates from Andy, Michaela, Kenny und Victoria for special abilities. The evening was full of tears and laughter because nobody really wanted to leave. Nevertheless, this didn’t stop us from having fun and staying up until late. It was an amazing last evening before we left for Washington D.C……
On Thursday morning we left, after a big good bye and some tears, Washington PA at around 7:30 am to start the journey to Washington D.C.. After about 4 hours we checked in into The Residence Inn Foggy Bottom. Our Sightseeing started with the White House, after that we had free time. We had the chance to go the zoo, to Renwick Gallery or to some of the many monuments and museums. In the evening some of us went to a football game in Baltimore which was also a very special experience.
